We’re delighted to be supporting three free workshops for those aged 16+ with Darlington Library’s Poet in Residence, Caroline Walling, this October.   Booking is required for these workshops and they, alongside many other events at Darlington Library, can be booked now at https://www2.darlington.gov.uk/events.

2025/26 is the third year of a fantastic project which Tees Women Poets – A woman’s place is on stage, who have co-ordinated the residency alongside Darlington Library, are delivering to encourage creative writing in Tees Valley, which has been supported by other local authorities in Tees Valley and by Arts Council England.

Darlington Library is celebrating its 140th birthday on Thursday 23 October 2025 with activities for different age groups from 10.30am that day.  We hope you book up for one or more of the preceding Metaphorically Speaking workshops, and may hear some of the ideas and feelings you explore in these reflected in a fantastic new poem which will be shared at Darlington Library as part of its 140th birthday celebrations.
