Darlington Orchestra Winter Concert 2026
Darlington Orchestra’s next concert takes place on Saturday 31 January at 7.30pm (doors open 7pm) in the Dolphin Centre’s Central Hall.
This wide-ranging musical programme presents a journey across some iconic soundscapes and popular 20th-century musical locations. The travels include a grand military march through Elgar’s England and a visit to Lerner & Lowe’s elegant Paris in a lush arrangement of the music from Gigi. Plus, there’s a whirlwind trip around Andrew Lloyd Webber’s themes from Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita and Cats.

The abridged version of Rossini’s William Tell Overture is a thrilling dash through Switzerland, followed by a spirited seafaring adventure on The Windjammer as the programme moves on to explore Hollywood and Broadway via a collection of tunes by the talented musicians Irving Berlin and Leonard Bernstein.
Special guests Well-Versed Community Choir will be performing two short sets featuring a selection of tunes from its repertoire ranging from pop and rock music to classical and jazz pieces.
