Tracks is a new music collective aiming to develop activities and services for the benefit of local musicians, music organisations and audiences living, working and visiting the area.
Creative Darlington provided support for Tracks in 2017/18 and 2018/19 to develop an extensive programme of activity including a Noisy Daughters event in February 2018 at Darlington Hippodrome and The Hullabaloo, the Last Train Home Festival 2018 and sector development sessions in Darlington Town Centre from September to October 2018 including GET: Gigs, GET: Press, GET: Heard, GET: Out There, which was also supported through Arts Council England through Grants for the Arts. Tracks have secured support from Darlington Borough Council and Arts Council England to programme and promote Last Train Home 2019, and we’re looking forward to another fabulous festival of music and comedy at various venues in close proximity to Darlington’s Bank Top station. Tracks are making a fantastic contribution to Darlington’s cultural offer, including their Music Box festival, programming stages within Town Centre events including the Festival of Ingenuity and championing music and gaining exposure for artists and bands working in and around Darlington.
Creative Darlington supported live music programmed by Tracks at their Noisy Daughters Vinyl Launch event at Voodoo Café as part of Darlington Arts Festival in May 2019 and we’ve also offered some support to Sarah Wilson from Tracks to attend Brighton’s The Great Escape Festival as a participant of their brand new TGE Elevate scheme, an Arts Council funded project to help the music leaders of the future access the conference and festival. Tracks have their finger to the pulse and Creative Darlington applauds their success, ambition and drive in championing musicians and bands and making new things happen.
