Blue Cabin is excited to invite you to a wonderful event – “This is the Place – A Practical Guide to Early Years Music‑Making”. It will take place on Monday, 22 September 2025, from 10 am to 3 pm at Theatre Hullabaloo, Borough Road, Darlington, DL1 1SG. This rich, hands‑on session is ideal for early years practitioners, musicians, foster carers, SEND professionals, and anyone working with care‑experienced families. Throughout the day, you’ll explore:

  • The Hello Song—for welcoming and giving children a sense of place
  • How children learn through singing, pulse, rhythm, and repetition
  • Singing for health and relationships—how music reduces stress
  • The emotional impact of puppets
  • Building speech, language, and behaviour strategies using a Song Bag
  • Understanding physical development and why children move so much
  • Relationship-building through movement with Lycra and props
  • Harnessing the soothing power of lullabies
  • Experiencing the calming effects of a sound bath
